A leading Church of England vicar slammed UK Indie group The Verve after several of his choirboys were 'out of their box' due to misinterpreting the lyrics of their hit song 'The drugs don't work'Reverend Dick Stroke of St Pauls near Upper Chelmsford hit out at the Verve and said they acted irresponsibly in using the words in their song.
"To use the words 'the drugs don't work' as a title for a popular hit music song was completely wrong and resulted in several of our choirboys trying drugs for the first time. Thinking that drugs were ok to take, led to several of my boys going out and purchasing some Cocaine, Ecstasy and marijuana on a drug and alcohol induced night out."
Christian Jones 15, of lower Chelmsford was arrested for 'gurning uncontrollably to passers by in a public street' after he downed 8 E's and half a bottle of vodka.
Martin Thomas 14, of middle Chelsmford was arrested for 'slouching in a comfortable position outside a petrol station' after having smoked an ounce of weed, following a trip to the garage for some munchies.
Carl Forsyth 16, of higher Chelsmford was arrested for 'talking shit to complete strangers for hours on end' after snorting 4 bags of coke and downing a bottle of whisky.
Meanwhile Reverend Stroke said he couldn't wait to get the boys back to give them a severe beating over his knee.
